Hotel Stays: The Rosewood Baha Mar

If you’re looking for a luxurious escape in the Bahamas, the Rosewood Baha Mar might just be what you’re after. Situated in Nassau, this hotel is part of the larger Baha Mar resort complex, but it holds its own as a peaceful retreat amidst the vibrant atmosphere.

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the welcoming staff and the property’s modern, yet relaxed vibe. Whether you’re lounging by the pool or indulging in one of their fabulous dining options, this place knows how to pamper guests.

The Room

My Oceanview Junior Suite at Rosewood Baha Mar was more than just a room—it was a small slice of paradise. Spacious and thoughtfully designed, it came with a stunning view of the pool, beach, and ocean, which I enjoyed from the comfort of my private balcony. There’s something truly special about waking up to the sight and sound of the sea.

The bed was wonderfully comfortable, perfect after a day of lounging in the sun. As someone who always needs their morning coffee, I appreciated the full kitchenette, complete with a coffee maker.

And let’s talk about the bathroom—easily one of the best features. Marble floors, a roomy shower with a seat, and a magnificent eggshell bathtub made it feel like a private spa. But what really surprised me was discovering a washer and dryer tucked away near the entrance. Hidden in a closet, this was a game changer for anyone who doesn’t want to pack too many outfits or deal with gym clothes piling up.

Fitness and Flamingo Yoga

Speaking of the gym, it’s a 24/7 fitness lover’s dream. Outfitted with brand-new Technogym equipment, you’ll find everything you need for a great workout. I’m usually more of a runner, but I couldn’t resist trying out the yoga class, especially after I learned it wasn’t just your average session.

And this Rosewood offers flamingo yoga—yes, actual flamingos. Imagine downward dog with a couple of flamingo “assistants” strolling around. The instructor was kind and non-intrusive, which is important for me as I typically don’t enjoy having my form corrected in front of everyone, and being autistic, I prefer not to be touched. The flamingos were well-behaved (no accidents!), adding a quirky but delightful twist to the session.

Dining Delights

The food scene at Rosewood Baha Mar is as varied as it is delicious. While it’s no secret that resort dining can be expensive, the quality here made it worth the splurge—most of the time. One standout was Café Boulud, open for both breakfast and dinner. If you’re a breakfast enthusiast like me, don’t skip the coconut chia pudding or the almond croissants. They’re a perfect way to start your day. Another unique experience was breakfast in the hotel’s cozy library room, where you can later return for a proper English tea service in the afternoon.

For dinner, Costa, the resort’s outdoor Mexican restaurant, offered a filling and flavorful meal. I was particularly impressed with the fresh, vibrant flavors and the ambiance. While it was on the pricier side, it felt like good value for what you get—especially compared to some of the smaller portions at the beach bar, where a plate of veggies and hummus felt a little skimpy for the $20+ price tag. One thing to note: keep an eye on drink prices. I had a bit of sticker shock when I saw bottled water for $18. (Makes that glass of Whispering Angel for $22 look like a bargain.)

And no trip to a luxury resort is complete without a great cocktail, and Rosewood’s Manor Bar did not disappoint. This elegant yet relaxed space is the perfect spot to unwind after a long day of sunbathing or sightseeing. The bartenders know their craft, and the cocktail menu features a creative range of options. If you’re a fan of classic drinks with a twist, this is your place.

The Little Details

Rosewood Baha Mar stands out not just for its luxurious accommodations, but for the small details that elevate the entire experience. From the plush towels and robes to the top-notch service, it’s clear that every aspect of your stay is designed to make you feel relaxed and cared for. The staff was consistently friendly and attentive, without being overbearing, striking just the right balance for a high-end resort.

Plus, they’re extremely dog-friendly, which is always a plus in my book. Pets under 60 pounds are welcome at the hotel, with some breed restrictions in place. You can bring up to two pets per room, but they must be either cats or dogs. There’s a non-refundable pet cleaning fee of $250 per stay, which covers a range of pet amenities for your furry friends, including a water bowl, food bowl, treats, a cozy pet bed, and toys to use during your visit. Just a heads-up—pets can’t be left alone in the room, so make sure to schedule housekeeping accordingly. Also note pets are not allowed in the pool area or restaurants.

Sure, some things are pricey—but that’s to be expected at a 5-star island resort. The overall value, service, and serenity more than make up for it.

Verdict: I would definitely stay here again. I think this would also be a good fit for couples/families who want to book a quiet beach vacation during the holidays (i.e. for Thanksgiving or Christmas). The hotel does special events and dining menus for both.
